Position Objective: This position is responsible for product sales for Coastal Sunbelt Produce in the South Jersey/Philadelpha market. This includes obtaining new business; growing and maintaining existing profitable business; meeting productivity standards; and planning appropriately to ensure maximum productivity and sales.
This position is also responsible for:
PERFORMANCE
New Business procure minimum number of new accounts that meet margin per drop and margin per route expectations (non-chain and approved chain)
Restaurants, government buildings, nursing homes, hospitals, museums, caterers, event centers, etc.
Account Penetration grow and develop profitable case volume for existing accounts
Current Business keep current profitable business. Reduce churn by working closely with Pricing Team, Inside Sales and Operations
PRODUCTIVITY
Field Activity achieve expected number of customer visits per week
New target visits appointments/presentations
Prospecting visits setting appointments, making initial contact
Penetration visits introducing new products
Business Review visits for high profit customers
Touch visits for high profit customers
Specific Growth Initiatives
Specialty products
New item roll outs
Value Added roll outs
PLANNING
Weekly activity plan/schedule
Week planned with specific activities by day
Week plan submitted each Friday (for following week)
Type and volume of visits to meet expectations
Weekly strategy meeting with Sales Director
Identification of opportunities using analytics
Other duties as assigned
This position is also expected to:
Maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times
Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Independently identify issues and create solutions
Find creative solutions to issues and challenges
Represent the Company in a positive manner
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience, preferably in a produce or food environment
High School Diploma or equivalent
Job requirements:
Moderate to heavy lifting that may require the ability to move up to 50 lbs., with or without a reasonable accommodation
Climbing, balancing, standing, walking, pushing/pulling, lifting, reaching, moving and grasping items and components with hands, including produce
Communicate with others verbally and occasionally in writing
Reliable transportation ability to drive personal vehicle regularly to customer sites
Must be:
18 years of age
Able to successfully pass a criminal background check (following a conditional offer of employment)
Able to maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record
Able to work eight plus (8+)
